Robert ArendalRobert S. Arendal was born in Copenhagen, Denmark and holds a graduate degree in business administration from Bröderna Phaalmans Handelsinstitut in Stockholm, Sweden. Arendal began his cargo career as a shipping trainee with Boise Griffins Shipping Company in New York. Building upon this shipping base, Arendal went to work for Seaboard World Airlines where he held several management positions in the United States and Europe. Joining Cargolux Airlines in 1970 as their director of sales and marketing, by the end of the decade he had become senior vice president of sales, marketing, and cargo services leading a team of over 275 people and generating annual revenue of over US$450 million. By 1996, Arendal was appointed deputy CEO of the airline. An esteemed aviation visionary, today, Arendal can be found serving as an advisor to the chairman of Atlas Air, serving as the chairman of Kallax Cargo, and founder or RA Associates, an air cargo management and consulting group.
