Secretary General's Message

by Vladimir Zubkov

Over the past severalFridayFlyers I have shared information about the successful partnerships that have been formed with other like-minded organizations such as AFRAA, ALACAT, AGUNSA and Americas Alliance.

We continue to broaden the type and region of connections available for TIACA members for networking. This week we have signed MoU’s with the USA Airforwarders Association(AfA)https://www.airforwarders.org/cpages/homepageand Summit Asiahttp://www.summitasia.cn/.

Many of you may be familiar with the AfA. It is a membership association that represents the interests of companies and individuals, based in the United States, engaged in the transportation of freight by air. AfA’s membership includes indirect air carriers, direct air carriers, ground carriers and other entities engaged in the described industry. The Executive Director, Brandon Fried is one of the longest-serving executives in the air cargo industry.

The MoU that we signed with the AfA lays the ground for our organizations to work together to strengthen cooperation on aviation matters by:

  • Participation in each other’s events;
  • Mutual promotion via social media and newsletters;
  • Promotion of the ACFandAirCargo 2018as well as AfA and TIACA Membership;
  • Consult, confer, and cooperate on a continuous basis;
  • Exchange information and keep each other informed on projected activities and programs of work;
  • Invite the other participant to be represented at global and regional conferences or meetings;
  • Disseminate information on relevant events of both Associations; and
  • Organize joint events and conduct capacity building assistance and activities.

Brandon and I agreed already on the practical steps. I will be meeting with their Board at their AGMheld in conjunction with AirCargo 2018, scheduled to take place in Austin, USA on18-21 February.(For more on AirCargo 2018 click here.)The AfA will bring their Board and many members to the ACF in October.

Summit Asia is a leading civil aviation intelligence provider as well as a conference and exhibition organizer in China. Summit Asia Events have been dedicated to organizing international conferences in the civil aviation industry which provide an opportunity for Chinese airlines and airports to communicate and network with their foreign counterparts and to learn the cutting-edge technologies, innovative practices and development trends of the global civil aviation industry. It’s headed by Fowler Wang, General Manager also a well know figure in the air cargo and aviation fields.

TIACA is pleased to have agreed to strengthen our cooperation on regional matters with Summit Asia by:

  • Mutual representation at regional events;
  • Speaking/participation opportunities at such events;
  • Mutual promotion via social media and newsletters; and
  • Joint sales initiatives.

We want you to be aware of the potential that these relationships provide to the TIACA membership and start using these connections. We welcome your enquires and suggestions.

Vladimir Zubkov

TIACA Secretary General
