New TIACA Chairman

It is a great honour to be selected as chairman.

I have been talking to many people in the industry lately, members and non members of TIACA. Many are passionate about TIACA, not only in its current role, but also in the potential for the future. It is and will be the only organization that represents all segments of the air cargo supply chain.

I am thrilled to see how strong the TIACA brand is. We need to build further on this.

We will reach out more regionally and engage more with members. We will cooperate more with other global & regional organizations. There is a need for more transparency and visibility across the supply chain and TIACA will play a role in facilitating this.

Collaboration and cooperation between all parties in the air cargo supply chain is the only way forward to solve many of today’s issues.

TIACA is the natural platform to facilitate genuine collaboration and work towards a more innovative and quality-driven industry.

In addition, we must ensure we are motivating the next generation of air cargo leaders and you can expect to see TIACA putting an emphasis on training and encouraging young people to join the industry. We will build further on the already existing air cargo professional development program.

Even though we already have launched great initiatives, we also believe that we have a collective challenge to make TIACA more relevant for the benefit of our members and the industry.

Therefore, we have organized a think tank team of 15 high standing individuals in the air cargo industry, most of them members of TIACA, to focus on improving our improving our relevance even further.

Before the end of the year we will share the new strategy with you. In the meantime, please let us know if you have any suggestions that can contribute to the enhancement of our value proposition.

We were happy to have received positive feedback about our recent Executive Summit in Miami. Again, we have proven to be great platform to foster heathy discussions about issues that matter to our industry.

We will make our upcoming ACF event in Toronto next year a big success. It will be a great event to network, acquire knowledge and better position your company.

Please do not hesitate to contact our team at kgibson@tiaca.org for more information on the ACF in Toronto.

Thank you for your continued support.

Sebastiaan Scholte

TIACA Chairman
