Miami, FL, USA, Tuesday, 22nd March 2016 - Nabil Sultan, Emirates' Divisional Senior Vice President, Cargo has been appointed to The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA) Board of Directors.

Sultan has over 20 years’ experience in senior management roles at the airline and was promoted to his current role in 2013.

“Air cargo is one of the primary drivers of the global economy, and our industry will play an increasingly prominent role in supporting international commerce in the decades to come,” said Sultan.

“I am honored to join TIACA’s Board of Directors because I share the organization’s commitment to improving market access, security, and environmental responsibility in the global air cargo industry.”

Sultan began his career with Emirates in 1990 in the IT department, and two years later joined the company’s management training program with the commercial department.

Between 1995 and 2008, he worked in various management and leadership roles both within and outside the United Arab Emirates (UAE), including Senior Vice President for Commercial Operations West Asia and Indian Ocean; Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations Gulf, Middle East, and Iran; and Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations for Europe.

In 2009, he was promoted to Divisional Senior Vice President, Revenue Optimization and Distribution.

“We are delighted to have Nabil join the TIACA Board, he is a valuable addition to the very active and engaged team," said Sanjiv Edward, Chairman, TIACA, and Head of Cargo Business at Delhi International Airport.

"TIACA has been taking a leadership role in improving the air cargo supply chain and the Board of Directors makes significant contribution to the process, by their diverse and rich industry experience.”

“TIACA is the only organization representing all sectors of the air cargo community and Nabil’s airline experience will bring an important perspective and expertise to our Board of Directors,” said Doug Brittin, Secretary General, TIACA.

Registration is now open for TIACA’s Executive Summit, which takes place from 24th to the 26th May 2016 at the Margaritaville Resort in Florida, just north of Miami.

TIACA’s Air Cargo Forum takes place this year in Paris, France, from 26th to 28th October, where thousands of supply chain decision makers are expected to visit hundreds of air cargo specialists.
