In a notice in today’s Federal Register, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has issued an interim final rule outlining its plans to implement the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE), CBP’s next generation automation system. The IFR also details CBP’s planned phaseout of its existing automation system, the Automated Commercial System (ACS). The IFR is effective November 1.
CBP plans for ACE to be fully functional for entry and entry summary by the end of February 2016, and plans to complete work on all core trade processing functionality by the end of 2016 – making ACE the single window for U.S. trade data by the end of next year.
Interested parties may submit comments to CBP by November 12. Please click here for a copy of the full notice.
