Join us at The International Air Cargo Association’s Air Cargo Professional Development workshop in Vancouver on May 2nd to 5th at Vancouver International Airport, Domestic Terminal Building!

Air Canada Cargo is the proud host of this workshop in conjunction with The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA) and Strategic Aviation Solutions International (SASI).

What is the Air Cargo Professional Development Program (ACPD)?

The air cargo industry needs a new and increasing source of qualified managers to support the new challenges we are facing.

The ACPD is designed to develop that next generation of leaders as part of TIACA’s educational commitment to the air cargo industry.

The three-and-a-half day workshop addresses the specific needs of the industry and will give participants the practical information and skills you need to succeed on a day-to-day basis.

It aims to develop management and decision-making skills, including financial analysis and marketing, along with team-building leadership expertise.

A key course element to integrate learning is the assignment of case studies for the participants to work on and present as a team. A panel will evaluate the credibility/feasibility of your team’s proposal, financial impact, complexity and resources required.

The Program is the result of a strategic collaboration between TIACA and Strategic Aviation Solutions International (SASI), and aims to fill the management knowledge-gap identified in a report released by a TIACA-led Education and Training Task Force in January 2014.

The report, based on a two-year study headed by TIACA’s Education and Research Committee (ERC) in conjunction with the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA), and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), concluded that focused courses were needed to teach vital “soft skills” in order to avoid a leadership crisis in the industry.

Who should attend?

  • Middle Management in the air cargo supply chain
  • Junior Management identified for talent development
  • Airlines, GSA/GSSAs, Ground Handlers, Airports, Logistics Service Providers, Civil Aviation Authority, Government Authorities involved in air cargo
  • Anyone interested in learning more about the industry

Workshop Objectives:

  • Better understand each subject area and how they interface and impact each other in the work environment
  • Create an appreciation for different perspectives in the supply chain
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities and challenges in the air cargo industry
  • Foster an environment to stimulate discussion and creativity amongst all participants.

Meet Tim Strauss, new VP of Cargo, Air Canada and find out from him and the other panelists the future of air cargo!

This workshop will also provide the perfect backdrop for raising questions and thoughts with senior industry leaders, creating the process of change required for industry development and growth. Participants will also be able to build connections and support through networking.
