The Industry
Affairs Committee is the channel through which a substantial portion
of TIACA's purpose and goals is implemented. The Committee's primary
role is to establish TIACA as the principal representative of the air
cargo industry and its activities around the world. It seeks to have
the association's views professionally represented within the industry,
with related enterprises, with global business entities, with governments
and with world trade organizations. The Committee promotes the critical
issues of the industry identified by TIACA. It formulates TIACA's positions
and policy responses and seeks ways to identify and address potential
problems before they reach the crisis stage. It explores new ideas and
innovative concepts to advance world trade as it relates to air logistics.
The Industry Affairs Committee has selected four major industry issues
as priorities: customs problems, relations with other related organizations,
traffic rights, and a standard code of practice for the industry.
