George Batchelor:
Founder and former Chairman of Arrow Air
No brief biography can adequately describe the life and accomplishments of George E. Batchelor. Born in Oklahoma, he graduated from the Aeronautical Institute of California and flew with the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II.
His business career has been closely tied to aviation with more than 50 years of diversified management involvement in aircraft sales, leasing, finance, maintenance, and airline operations. He has owned several airlines including Arrow Air, a major air cargo carrier. His vision and activity have played a major role in establishing Florida as an aviation center and Miami as one of the leading air cargo centers of the world.
In the area of community service and involvement, his role has been outstanding. His generous financial and personal support has benefited wildlife and the environment, provided medical services and facilities to children, assisted the homeless and needy, and supported education and learning.
He richly deserves the honors which have been bestowed upon him and TIACA proudly welcomes him to its Hall of Fame.
