Garth Davies: (1936 - 1999)
An international businessman, was born in Oldham, England and educated
in English schools. He began work as a journalist in both Britain and
the Caribbean and rapidly became a specialist in aviation, including
tourism development.
During his career he served as a communication consultant to carriers,
governments and communities. With extensive experience in the Caribbean, and Asia.
He served more than a dozen carriers during his career and developed a
strong relationship with two air cargo airlines. Challenge Airlines and
Cargolux.
His experience in international communications this experience led him
to a founding role in the formation and development of The International
Air Cargo Association.
For almost 10 years he served as Secretary General of the
association where his communications and marketing skills led to the
growth and expansion of the Air Cargo Forum and Exhibition into the
world's premier cargo event.
Today, the worldwide association which embraces all the players in the
air cargo service chain is the global voice of a dynamic and growing industry.
TIACA's current role reflects the guiding hand of the journalist
turned international aviation leader.
