Eric Campaña is being inducted into the TIACA 2003 Hall of Fame in
recognition of his professional leadership, years of dedicated service toward
the development of the air cargo industry in Chile and throughout the Western
Hemisphere and his advocacy of open skies and free trade for Chile and the world.
Mr. Campaña was born and educated in Chile. He earned degrees as an
Aeronautical Engineer, Aviation Technical Maintenance Engineer and a licensed
commercial pilot. He served as president of Lan Chile from 1964 - 1970 and
has since served numerous distinguished aviation organizations such as the
Chilean Association of Air Cargo Agents, the National Association of Commercial
Airlines of Chile and he was the Chilean Government's representative on the
board of Lan Chile.
In addition, he serves as Aeronautical Advisor to the National Director of
Airports for the Chilean Ministry of Public Works, as a committee member of
the Chilean National Export Association and Chairman of the Board of TRANSUP
S.A. Mr. Campaña oversaw the reconstruction of the A. Merino Benitez
Airport and he was founder and CEO of Fast Air Carrier a Chilean international
air cargo airline.
Mr. Campaña specializes in planning and research of airlines systems
and is a permanent committee member of the Chilean Air Force's Department
of Aerospace Interests. He continues to contribute his expertise and leadership
for the betterment of the air cargo industry in Chile and throughout the world.
