Wim de Wit
Vice President Industry Affairs, Martinair Holland N.V.
|
Wim de Wit is Vice President, Industry Affairs Cargo, for Martinair, a passenger
and cargo aircraft operator founded in 1958 as Amsterdam-based Martin’s
Air Charter by aviation pioneer Martin Schroder. The airline’s name
was changed to Martinair Holland in 1966 when it began world-wide operations
with quick-change conversions. Today, the airline is owned jointly by KLM
Airlines and Nedlloyd. Before joining Martinair Holland in 1987, de Wit
spent 14 years overseas working for a large Dutch telecommunications company
in Taiwan, Indonesia, Yemen, Burkina Faso, Togo and Malaysia. De Wit has
seen Martinair’s cargo fleet grow from one Boeing 747-200 CF and four
DC10-30 CFs at the time he joined the company, to a fleet today of four
Boeing 747s and seven MD-11s. Wim de Wit specializes in leases (both in
and out), charters and special cargo for Martinair.
