David R. Brooks has been President of American Airlines Cargo Division since
1996, a post to which he was named after extensive cargo experience throughout
the United States and Europe as President of the Airline Services Division
of AMR Services Corporation. American Airlines is the largest airline in
the world operating 800 aircraft with 4,200 daily departures. Although American
operates no freighters, cargo is carried in the bellies of all passenger
aircraft. Brooks joined American as a financial analyst in 1983, and two
years later was named Manager-Financial Planning for AMR Services. He became
AMR’s Director of Field Operations in 1986, was appointed Director
of International Services in 1990. He was named V.P. of AMR Finance and
Administration in 1991, and promoted to President of the Airline Services
Division in 1994.
