Cargo B increases services to S.America
- BRUSSELS (WorldACD) - Cargo B is adding a third weekly flight on its B747 freighter services from Brussels to South America, effective March 21.
The additional flight will make stops in Sao Paulo, Latacunga (Ecuador) and Bogota (Colombia).
The new cargo airline already flies twice-weekly to Sao Paulo and Latacunga,
with one of the flights making a stop in Buenos Aires.
Latacunga and Bogota are important exit points for cut flower exports.

ICAO to audit African capacity for US flights
- LONDON, March 24 (WorldACD) - The International Civil Aviation Organisation will this year audit the capacity of Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania to originate and receive direct flights to the United States.
The managing director of Uganda’s Civil Aviation Authority, Ambrose Akandonda, revealed that Kenya’s audit will be carried out in July, with the other two countries being vetted in November.

Emirates SkyCargo boosts African ties
- CAPE TOWN, South Africa, March 24 (WorldACD) - The start of the daily service to Cape Town March 30 will have Emirates SkyCargo, the freight arm of the Dubai-based carrier, further strengthen its long relationship with South African traders.

FAA orders inspections on older planes
- WASHINGTON, March 25 (WorldACD) - The Federal Aviation Administration has issued a directive ordering U.S. airlines to inspect their older 737s because the wing fuel tanks could be punctured by loose or broken parts.
A similar episode occurred on a newer model 737 last year, and the China Airlines plane exploded in flames after it landed in Okinawa, Japan. All 165 passengers and crew members safely scrambled down emergency chutes or jumped from cockpit windows.

- KUALA LUMPUR, Mar 26 (WorldACD) - The Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA) has reported that international freight traffic, expressed in freight tonne kilometres (FTKs), grew by 2.4 pct in February, year-on-year.

Delta, AA cancel many flights on MD aircraft
- ATLANTA (WorldACD) - Delta Air Lines Thursday said it is canceling 275 flights through early Friday to run safety inspections on wiring in 117 MD-88 aircraft.
American Airlines Thursday canceled 132 more flights after canceling 318 Wednesday to run safety inspections on MD-88 and MD-80 aircraft. Multiple models of the MD-80 were made by St. Louis-based McDonnell Douglas, and Boeing, the Chicago-based firm that bought McDonnell Douglas.
Most of the affected American flights departed from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport and Chicago O'Hare international Airport. Two flights at Portland International Airport were canceled on Wednesday.
