Air cargo at Moscow Domodedovo, 2007
Feb 11, 2008 (newstodate): In 2007, air cargo volumes at Moscow Domodedovo Airport grew by 6.1 percent.
Cargo in 2007 at Moscow's three main airports
Feb 12, 2008 (newstodate): In 2007, Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport again took the lead among Moscow's airports in cargo volumes growth. According to available statistics, Sheremetyevo Airport increased its volumes by 15.6 percent to a total of 128,150 tonnes, including 117.044 tonnes of cargo, up 5.6 percent, and 11,1106 tonnes of mail, up 3.5 percent.
Estonia thrives on Chinese exports to Russia
Feb 13, 2008 (newstodate): In January, 2008, Estonia's Tallinn Airport saw its cargo volumes soaring by no less than 224 percent, y-o-y. The airport handled a total of 2,296 tonnes of cargo, including 2,218 tonnes of cargo and 78 tonnes of mail. Tallinn Airport thus continued its dynamic growth through 2007 by 120 percent, to a total of 22,764 tonnes of cargo and mail. Behind the sustained hike in cargo volumes are Chinese exports loads to Russia via the Baltic airports, where Tallinn Airport has currently taken the lead.
Environmental concerns spur jet fuel sales
Feb 14, 2008 (newstodate): At the annual World Economic Forum, at Davos, world leaders and trend-setters meet to discuss issues including environmental concerns and sustainable development. Among the immediate beneficiaries from this is ExecuJet Switzerland that provides fuelling of the host of business jets carrying the concerned personalities. This year ExecuJet Switzerland handled over 300 movements and sold a record amount of fuel, exceeding last year's fuel sale by more than 150,000 liters.
Lufthansa Cargo borrows more time from Russia
Feb 15, 2008 (newstodate): Lufthansa has gained another temporary permit to use Russian airspace for its freighter traffic to Kazakhstan. The current permit will expire by the end of February, but its has now been prolonged till the end of March, sources say. Russia is known to have put pressure on Lufthansa to move its cargo hub from Astana, Kazkahstan, to Krasnoyarsk, Siberia, and halted Lufthansa Cargo freighters' overflights in October, 2007, causing a major rift in relations between the parties.
