Oct 29, 2007 (newstodate): The Aeroflot subsidiary Aeroflot Cargo reports strong performance in 2007 - its first year of operation.
CSA to launch its first freighter route to Asia
Oct 31, 2007 (newstodate): For the first time in its history, Czech Airlines CSA will offer a regular, all cargo long-haul flight, starting November 9, 2007. In cooperation with Emirates SkyCargo, CSA will offer the greater part of the capacity of a Boeing 747-200F full freighter flying both directions once weekly on the route Prague–Dubai–Hong Kong. Czech Airlines will be responsible for sales of more more than a half of the capacity. The remaining part will be marketed by Emirates SkyCargo. CSA's cooperation with Emirates SkyCargo will represent an annual volume of 6,000 tonnes, increasing Czech Airlines' overall cargo carriage by one-quarter.
S7 Airlines to expand its international route network
Nov 1, 2007 (newstodate): Effective from 2008, S7 Airlines is to implement a new strategy, focusing its efforts on international flights development. Initially the carrier plans to start regular flights to countries in Europe, South-East Asia and CIS, with routes to the American continent and Australia further down the pipeline. Plans for developing S7's European route network provide for the arrangement of regular flights to European capitals, including Paris, London, Berlin, Rome and Geneva.
Russia increases airnav charges 2nd time in 2007
Nov 2, 2007 (newstodate): Russia's provider of air navigational services, Rosaeronavigatsiya has increased its charges with effect from November 1, 2007. The latest increase is 8.3 percent, following on a nine percent increase introduced by February 15, 2007, and charges are now calculated in Russian Rubles instead of as earlier in US dollars to hedge against the impact from declining US dollar exchange rates. The charges are calculated on the basis of 100 km flight in Russian airspace, and differentiated between foreign and Russian airlines. Thus foreign airlines now have to pay 1,900 Rubles per module, while Russian airlines pay only 476 Rubles, all charges based on MTOW up to 100 tonnes.
