For those in international logistics I can only say hold onto your hats! As of 10 November 2015, the U.S. stock market, as measured by the S&P 500 index has only gained 1.82%. During the same period the Baltic Dry Index, a measure of demand for the ocean transport of raw materials, has plummeted by 55%. The last time the spread was this strong was in 2008! The divergence suggests a disconnect between the U.S. and the rest of the world. So, are you ready for some turbulence?
