Emirates SkyCargo boosts African ties

CAPE TOWN, South Africa, March 24 (WorldACD) - The start of the daily service to Cape Town March 30 will have Emirates SkyCargo, the freight arm of the Dubai-based carrier, further strengthen its long relationship with South African traders.

Trade between the two countries has grown steadily since services between the UAE and South Africa were inaugurated 13 years ago. In 2006 it crossed the Dh2 billion ($562 million) mark.

Emirestes officials said the South African market is vital.The airline is operating two Boeing 747 freighters into Johannesburg weekly and the belly capacity on the carrier's 21 passenger flights.
