TREND - Freight traffic up in Nov – ACI
(WorldACD) - Airports Council International (ACI) said total freight handled worldwide last month increased by 3.6 pct compared to November 2006.
International freight was up by 4.7 percent, the exception being North America “where a slowing economy and preference for alternative modes of transport contributed to the 1.5 percent decrease,” ACI reported.
“High fuel prices continued to constrain demand for freight services, particularly in domestic markets," the Council added. Domestic freight traffic fell by 0.2 pct.
Total freight traffic for the year-to-date grew by 3.3 percent on January-November 2006.
