Jan 8, 2008 (newstodate): Finnair ended 2007 with a 5.2 percent growth in total volumes, accruing to 98,684 tonnes.
The growth was due to a 24.5 percent sustained rise in the Asian traffic, counting 59,165 tonnes, corresponding to 60 percent of the total volumes.
Other segments slided backwards in 2007, including European cargo, down 3.7 percent, North Atlantic cargo, down nine percent, domestic cargo, down 13.5 percent, and scheduled cargo charter loads, down 44.5 percent.
The picture was somewhat brighter in December, 2007, when total cargo volumes rose 14.2 percent to 8,780 tonnes, with Asian traffic in the lead with a 44.4 percent increase to a total of 5,711 tonnes, corresponding to 65 percent of the totals.
