Nov 1, 2007 (newstodate): Effective from 2008, S7 Airlines is to implement a new strategy, focusing its efforts on international flights development.
Initially the carrier plans to start regular flights to countries in Europe, South-East Asia and CIS, with routes to the American continent and Australia further down the pipeline.
Plans for developing S7's European route network provide for the arrangement of regular flights to European capitals, including Paris, London, Berlin, Rome and Geneva.
On October 11, formal letters were forwarded to the Ministry of Transport and Rosaviation requesting the initiation of negotiations with the Government of France on reviewing provisions of Agreement on Air Transport between two countries with respect to increase in the quantity of designated carriers, as well as increase in possible number of flights between Russian and French capitals.
S7 Airlines has also forwarded proposals to the Minister of Transport of Russia concerning the procedure for access of airlines as designated air carriers, to perform international flights.
