Icelandair Cargo to launch new Swedish freighter service

Sep 21, 2007 (newstodate): From October 10, 2007, Icelandair Cargo plans to start a new freighter route between Keflavik and Stockholm Arlanda, connecting with the carrier's North Atlantic flights.
-Pending final approval by the Swedish LFV, the freighter will bring Icelandic horses into Stockholm Arlanda in the morning, returning from Stockholm shortly after noon with Scandinavian exports destined for the USA, to be transferred to our morning freighter flight to New York, says Robert Tomasson, Icelandair Cargo.
Initally scheduled for one weekly flight, plans are to add a second operation if warranted by market demands.
-The export capacity on the flight is open to the market, served by our GSA for Sweden and Finland, Scandinavian AirBridge, says mr Tomasson.
Icelandair Cargo currently operates a weekly flight since April, 2007, carrying horses into Norrkoping Airport, and this traffic will not be affected by the new Stockholm flight, according to Mr Tomasson.
In addition Icelandair Cargo operates a twice-weekly flight from Jonkoping since October 2006, driven by DSV Air & Sea for Swedish industry customers.
