New Russian freighter readying for deliveries
Sep 18, 2007 (newstodate): In August the new Russian freighter IL-96-400T performed its maiden flight, and the first delivery is slated for September, pending final certification.
The IL-96-400T freighter can carry up to 92 tonnes of cargo.
Ilyushin Finance Company has ordered five IL-96-400T freighter, and they will be delivered to Atlant-Soyuz with two aircraft before the end of this year and the remainder to be delivered before 2009.
Aeroflot Cargo is also planning for the early introduction of six IL-96-400 freighters, with the first aircraft expected to be delivered in 2008 already, with two more to follow shortly after, and with the remaining three to follow suit in 2010.
