A leaner prospect for Malev's future

Aug 22, 2007 (newstodate): Loss-making Hungarian airline Malev is heading for a leaner future after its new CEO, Lloyd Paxton has taken command.
Speaking at a news conference on Monday, Mr Paxton said Malev's aircraft fleet will have to be reduced while the network will remain almost unchanged.
Malev now has 30 aircraft in its fleet, and this may be reduced to some 22, with one Boeing 767 aircraft going as well as possibly the CRJ aircraft.
Plans for reducing Malev's aircraft fleet first emerged already in 2005.
