GULF AIR WILL TRANSFER CARGO DEPARTMENT AT LONDON'S HEATHROW TO PACE AIRLINE MANAGEMENT

GULF Air is to transfer its cargo department at London's Heathrow Airport to Pace Airline Management in a move to increase its penetration of the UK market.

Under the terms of the contract, effective from October 1, 2002, Pace will also assume responsibility for all of Gulf Air Cargo's business in the UK, including the Midlands, North of England and Scotland. Members of the airline's cargo team at Heathrow will join Pace as part of the agreement.

Girma Wake, head of cargo at Gulf Air says: "Pace was an obvious choice because it has a proven track record with Gulf Air Cargo. It became our exclusive GSA in Germany three years ago and has consistently exceeded our revenue and tonnage targets."
