TIACA’s Masters Scholarship $5,000 Award
The operational and commercial performance of the air cargo community and the contribution it can make to business competitiveness, world trade, and economic development will depend on the knowledge and capabilities of its workforce and management.
The TIACA Masters Scholarship Award is intended to draw more highly qualified individuals into the air cargo industry while at the same time spotlighting air cargo as a major contributor to the global economy. TIACA’s Masters Scholarship award requires the completion of a thesis on a current topic in the air cargo logistics/commerce industry. To be eligible, candidate must be enrolled or enrolling in a Masters Degree program in a graduate school of technology, business, science or law.
The thesis topic must focus on air cargo logistics/commerce. It must be written in English and should follow the requirements of the candidate’s university Masters Degree program.
In order to participate in the program candidates must complete the website application for the Masters Scholarship.

The applicant will receive a confirmation letter and a copy of the Academic Advisor Student Confirmation Form. The form must be completed by the student’s academic advisor agreeing to observe and evaluate the progress of the thesis. The form is to be returned to the student for submission of the following items by November 15, 2008:
Academic Advisor Student Confirmation Form.
Cover letter to the attention of the Education Committee Chairman
Thesis proposal (No more that 5 pages)
Candidates resume to include a permanent and current address and contact information
Estimated time of completion
Letters of recommendation
The above items must be addressed to the attention of Dora Kay, Education Committee Chairman, The International Air Cargo Association, P.O. Box 661510, 5600 N.W. 36th Street, Suite 620, Miami, FL 33266-1510.
The winning thesis is selected by the Education Committee on its relevancy to the air logistics industry, the clarity of proposed thesis and its originality. A press release is sent out to industry publications and TIACA members announcing the winning candidate. In addition, the recipient will be announced at The International Air Cargo Forum and TIACA’s Executive Conference and Annual General Meeting.
The award check is made out to the university and sent directly to the attention of the academic advisor for deposit into the student’s school account. The funds are to be used for research expenses, books and student tuition. A report on the progress of the thesis is due to TIACA every 6 months until the finalization of the paper.
At the completion of the thesis, it must be presented to TIACA via electronic mail and in hard copy for the TIACA Library. Upon receiving the paper, it will be sent to each TIACA Trustee member and placed on TIACA’s Research Paper webpage for public viewing. In addition, a press release is sent out announcing its completion and availability for review.
All publishing rights to the paper remain with the author and the university.
