Jet Airways awards ram and cabin services contract to Worldwide Flight Services in Newark
Jet Airways has awarded a contract at New York’s Newark Airport for ramp handling services to Worldwide Flight Services (WFS).
The two year agreement will see WFS perform loading and unloading services for Jet Airways’ daily Airbus A330-200 services, which operate to Brussels and onto Mumbai. WFS will also provide baggage services, cabin cleaning and water services for the airline in Newark.
Glenn Rutkowski, WFS Senior Vice President, Passenger Terminal Services, North America, said: “We have won this important new contract based on a combination of our established reputation for high service levels and value. This is our first contract with Jet Airways in North America and it further builds our presence in Newark, which was one of WFS’ first stations in this market. It remains a flagship operation for our passenger terminal services.”
WFS handles over 220 flights a month at Newark Airport, including the provision of ramp and passenger services for Singapore Airlines and LOT Polish Airlines and VIP lounge services for Lufthansa, Virgin Atlantic and SAS.
Siva Ramachandran, Regional Vice President, Americas for Jet Airways, commented: “We are well aware of the service levels WFS consistently delivers for its airline customers and this reinforces our belief that we have chosen the right partner to work with at Newark. Our customers expect the highest levels of service from Jet Airways so we rely on our partnerships with industry leaders like Worldwide Flight Services to ensure our passengers enjoy the best possible experience every time they fly with us.”
