Kale’s CAPELLA -CFS/ICD system is now TRA Compliant

CAPELLA-a CFS/ICD System used by one of Tanzania’s largest business group- Said Salim Bakhresa & Co Ltd. is now compliant with TRA (Tanzania Revenue Authority) mandate.

Kale’s CAPELLA- a CFS/ICD Management System is now compliant with TRA (Tanzania Revenue Authority) mandate. TRA is a trade & customs regulator for the region which has recently mandated all organizations based in the country to track the invoices being raised by them. This will ensure that VAT due to the Government gets collected and deposited on time. 

Just like in other countries, in Tanzania too there is a VAT applicable on every invoice that is raised on different services offered by businesses. At present the Airport cargo ground handlers have to collect this VAT component and deposit to government. However, a widespread existence of malpractices and corruption prevents a true depiction of VAT due from various businesses. This prompted TRA to install system to track invoices raised in each organization. 

Said Salim Bakhresa & Co Ltd (Azam Inland Container Depot), Tanzania, is one of the largest business groups in African region. Earlier they had to capture all invoice details manually in a sheet, which was tedious and error prone. With CAPELLA this process is now completely automated. CAPELLA raises the invoices and upon a print command interfaces with TRA system to transmit this information. The invoice information thus captured in TRA system enables them to view & track it.
