Schiphol awarded e-freight certificate
IATA Cargo has presented a Certificate of Achievement to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, in recognition of its "outstanding performance in supporting and helping to adopt e-freight in 2011".
The certificate was presented to Schiphol Cargo’s Director of Business Development, Saskia van Pelt by Guillaume Drucy, IATA’s Head of Cargo e-business Management, at the recent IATA World Cargo Symposium in Kuala Lumpur.
Incheon Airport and Singapore Changi Airport – both of whom have signed memorandums of understanding with Schiphol for the joint promotion of e-freight – also received similar certificates, as did airlines and freight forwarders with the strongest e-freight performance throughout 2011.
Says Saskia van Pelt: "We are very grateful to have our efforts to promote e-freight recognised in this way, and we accept this award on behalf of all the members of the Schiphol airfreight community who have played a part in the adoption of e-freight here.
"e-freight is vitally important to the industry’s future, with clear benefits to service quality, efficiency, transit times and the environment. e-freight secures our industry’s place as an integral element of the seamless supply chain."
