China Cargo Airlines launches Schiphol services

Amsterdam Airport Schiphol has added a new name to the list of all-cargo airlines serving the airport, with the inauguration of China Cargo Airlines daily B777 services.

China Cargo Airlines now incorporates Great Wall Airlines and Shanghai Airlines Cargo, with which it merged in June. The new China Cargo Airlines has now switched its own operations from Luxembourg to Schiphol, and replaces the services previously operated from Schiphol by Great Wall Airlines. 

China Cargo Airlines is a joint venture between China Eastern Airlines, shipping line COSCO, EVA Airways and Singapore Airlines Cargo. The newly-expanded carrier now operates a total of 19 freighters – five 747Fs, six 777Fs, three MD11Fs, two 757-200Fs and three A300-600Fs. 

In addition, China Cargo Airlines markets the bellyhold capacity of more than 330 passenger aircraft belonging to its shareholder China Eastern Airlines. Its international network from its Shanghai hub extends to more than 30 destinations in  Asia, Europe and the USA.
