Looking to exploit all the opportunities

The Indian air freight industry is a difficult environment in which to operate, but there are certainly some gaps in the market ready for development.
New Globe Logistik director Ashwin Didwania says that the Mumbai-headquartered company is active across all sectors of the Indian freight forwarding business. He noted: "I find that air freight has been growing well in the last few months, with a significant uptick in exports."
As well as international freight forwarding, New Globe Logistik offers such services as Customs brokerage, warehousing, insurance and consolidation but, common to all its activity, is the company's commitment to "quality service meeting customers' requirements", Didwania added.
"We are responsive to customers' needs, our dedicated teams working in cohesion to deliver simplified, cost-effective solutions," he declared.
That dedication was in evidence in its recent handling of the import and re-export of an Aston Martin car, destined for the 'Aston Martin Racing' event at the Bandra - Worli Sealink bridge in the western suburbs of Mumbai.
The valuable cargo arrived from Paris and New Globe took care of Customs clearance of the car and all documentation at Mumbai International airport after its unloading. It took around one and a half days for the Aston Martin to clear through the procedures and, after the vent organised in association with Gulf Oil, it was returned on a British Airways freighter to London.
"In air freight, our premier business, we have a proven track record and a strong reputation built over six decades of dedication and performance. We offer tailor-made air logistics support across various carriers ensuring an optimum mix of capacity and pricing to suit customer needs," Didwania went on.
"He explained that, over the course of the past two years: "We have expanded globally and launched our own office in Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
"The global expansion has allowed us to corner regional business and offer our worldwide clients a close-knit network covering the entire region." Furthermore, recent times have seen New Globe particularly focus on providing "innovative packaging methods" to the textiles trade in an effort to minimise pilferage and damage to cargo in transit.
"We have also reduced clearance time cycles for sensitive perishable items like life-saving drugs, which has attracted new clients into our fold," Didwania concluded.
