Emirates to add Dallas and Seattle
|
Dubai-based Emirates Airline is to lauch daily B777 operations to Dallas/Fort Worth and Seatlle-Tacoma International airport, which will both be served by non-stop flights from 2 February and 1 March respectively.
The Seattle route will help to further strengthen the airline's links with Boeing. Already the largest operator of B777 aircraft in the world, Emirates last year orderd an additional 30 B777-300ERs, bringing its total B777 passenger fleet commitment to 132 aircraft.
Emirates said the new Seattle service will help support key US exports including software, sound and television equipment, aircraft parts, medical and surgical supplies, video games and foodstuffs, goods that are headed for markets including the UAE, China, Japan, India and Hong Kong.
Commodities piped between Dallas and the UAE include oil and gas industry-related machinery, spaes and high-tech equipment. A bellyhold capacity of 15 tonnes on each flight will help support this trade.
