TIACA Names Camille Allaz as 2011 Recipient of 'Hall of Fame' Honor
Camille Allaz, former Executive Vice President Cargo for Air
Mr Allaz joined the airline as a junior executive in 1960 and rose through the executive ranks to become EVP Cargo Marketing & Sales and Chairman of Air Cargo in 1988. In 1990, he was promoted again to President of Groupe Air France Cargo consisting of UTA, Air Inter and Air France and, two years later, he was appointed Executive VP Cargo for Air
He is also the author of ‘The History of Air Cargo and Airmail from the 18th Century’, co-published by TIACA, which charts the development of the industry to the modern day.
He will officially receive his Hall of Fame award at a special gala dinner in
Daniel Fernandez, TIACA’s Secretary General, said: “Camille Allaz was selected for this award for his innovative leadership in the air cargo industry and for his contribution to creating one of the best historical guides to the growth and importance of our industry. During his tenure as Senior Vice President of Air France Cargo, it developed as one of the world’s leading air cargo airlines and in 1997 he was placed on the TIACA ‘Roll of Honor’ for his work with the airline.”
Created in 1997, the Hall of Fame recognizes the contribution of air cargo’s most influential business leaders. TIACA members, industry organizations and the industry press are invited to nominate individuals to be considered for the award and the honorees are selected by TIACA’s Chairman’s Council, which includes all past chairmen and the current chairman of the Association.
